About Me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Danny and I am a professional guitar teacher based in Gloucestershire, specialising in electric and acoustic guitar tuition to all ages and abilities. I grew up in Gloucester and studied music in Newport, South Wales. I have now returned to my home-town and teach guitar and work as a musician. I have a Creative Sound & Music BA (hons) Degree and a formal understanding of music theory.

I have been playing guitar since the age of 13, developing a unique style fusing elements of my favourite music into my own playing. I play electric guitar, rhythm and lead, and acoustic steel string guitar. My styles range from rock, metal, indie, jazz, funk, soul, folk, ethnic, finger-style, percussive to name a few. Whether you want to play the heaviest doom metal or sweet mellow melodies I’m sure I can offer you some expert advice on achieving your musical goals. I teach from the Matchfactory Studios at Morelands Trading Estate, Bristol Road, Gloucesterringus (just opposite JDR Karting) amplifiers are provided free of charge.
I have an enhanced DBS (criminal records check, available upon request) and I am a member of the Musicians Union.

As a musician I play electric guitar with Bristol based horror-rock outfit Jimmy Ringus facebook.com/jimmyringusband

I also play solo acoustic guitar original compositions and instrumental covers.

I’ve recently started running an improvisational project entitled Son of What?! This is a band designed to break down the boundaries of modern music performance by never performing a strictly rehearsed set. Rather than write songs we work on the mechanics of the jam so that every live performance becomes a unique and novel experience for both musicians and audience.
